Yippee! We will be able to continue accessing Ancestry Library Edition (ALE), our premier genealogy database, from home through December 31, 2020.
ProQuest, the company that provides ALE to Cook Library, has graciously extended home access to Cook card holders through the end of the year. In the past, ALE was only available at the library, either at Cook Park or Aspen Drive Library. Now ALE is available both in the library and at home.
ALE is very similar to, but not the same, as an individual subscription to Ancestry.com. ALE does not let you create a family tree or take advantage of the “shaking leaf” hints. However, the library’s subscription includes access to international records which is a higher level of subscription for individuals.
Take advantage of remote access to this premier genealogy database and find your ancestors! If you need help accessing the database or have questions about genealogy, contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
