Scenes from Storytime: Springtime Delights

Print

Hello!

This past week we had a wonderful time sharing stories and songs! We had so much fun- take a peak at what we did:

In Mrs. Lindahl’s Wednesday Storytime for Two-Year-Olds, everyone was “hoppy” listening to The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss, What Does the Rabbit Say? by Jacque Hall, and Hi Mom, I’m Home by Kees Moerbeek. The song Ten Little Carrots was a crowd favorite, too!

Ten Little Carrots (to tune of Up on a Housetop)

Look in the garden,

There I see

Ten little carrots growing merrily

A rabbit came and ate one

Oops, Oh No!!

Now there’s only nine carrots in the row.

Continue with 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 carrots until none are left.

At Ms. Colleen’s Tuesday Storytime for Three to Six Years-Old at Aspen, children celebrated National Library Week with these wonderful books: Maisy Goes to the Library by Lucy Cousins, I Took My Frog to the Library by Eric Kimmel, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr., and Carlo Likes Reading by Jessica Spanyol. Everyone really loved the classic closing song: Criss Cross Applesauce

Criss Cross Applesauce (Caregivers and children can do this poem together with child sitting in caregivers lap.)

Criss cross applesauce, (draw an X on child's back and lightly tap each shoulder on applesauce)

Spiders crawling down your back, (walk fingers down child's back)

Cool breeze, (gently blow on child's neck)

Tight squeeze, (give a hug)

Now you have the shivers! (give a tickle)

For Ms. Debbie’s Thursday Storytimes for both Babies and Toddlers, everything was “Easy as Pie!” The fun books All for Pie, Pie for All by David Martin and Apple Pie Tree by Zoe Hall were shared.

At Ms. Heather’s Thursday Storytime for Three to Six Years-Old, the books Where is the Green Sheep by Mem Fox, Farmyard Beat by Lindsay Craig, and Six Sandy Sheep by Six Sandy Sheep by Judith Ross Enderle and Stephanie Gordon Tessler were enjoyed!

Thank you so much for sharing stories with us this week!

Miss Heather
