The public scanners at both our Cook Park and Aspen Drive locations now have outgoing faxing capabilities. Here’s the scoop:

Facts:

  • Charge for faxing is $1.00 per page, to be paid in cash. You can include a cover page if you wish, but it will cost an additional $1.00.

Take a look at our Auto & Home page to see several new databases you can access any time of day or night with your Cook Memorial library card number. The "Auto" part of the page isn't brand new, since we have had the terrific Chilton auto repair database for several months. However, the "Home" features are new additions. You can search for recipes using the Culinary Arts Collection, find instructive articles to help with remodeling projects in the Home Improvement Collection, and research gardening questions in the Garden, Landscape and Horticulture Collection.

You will also notice on the Auto & Home page a selection of searchable online reference books dealing with cooking, gardening, and antiques. These are just a sampling of the online reference books available.Clicking on any one of the book covers will take you to a page where you can search within all 17,000+ titles now available full-text to our patrons.

Perhaps the most intriguing of these new databases is PriceIt! Antiques & Collectibles. This pricing tool provides data and images for art, antiques and collectibles in over 100 categories and subcategories from eBay, online antique dealers (GoAntiques and TIAS) and land-based auction houses. Try it out and see how much that family heirlom might fetch if you decided to part with it!

We are happy to announce that our reference staff is once again able to answer questions via online chat. Look for this widget on our front page or any of the Research a Topic  pages of our site.

When we are offline, you can send us an email instead and we will respond asap. Review all the ways to ask us a reference question.
