The Board and staff of the Cook Memorial Public Library District are proud to serve the nearly 60,000 residents of our community. Whether at our two library locations, bookmobile or online, we strive to offer collections, services and programs that educate, enrich and inspire. Additionally, our extensive eLibrary digital content puts the library wherever you are, anytime, via your computer, tablet or smartphone.
It’s our pleasure to serve you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any comments or questions about the library.

Through dedicated personal service, we connect our diverse community to resources and experiences that educate, enrich, and inspire.
In September 2014 all adults (age 18+) in the Cook Memorial Public Library District community were invited to take a brief online survey, giving you the opportunity to tell us how we’re doing, what’s important to you, and how the library can better serve you. This helpful information was supplemented by census data, interviews with community stakeholders, and teen focus group sessions. With the assistance of an experienced data analyst, the library staff and trustees reviewed all the information to develop a three-year strategic plan that covers July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2018 (the library’s 2016–18 fiscal years).
The goal of the strategic plan, our three-year roadmap, is to ensure that we allocate financial and human resources to provide innovative services and engaging collections that will meet or exceed the needs, wants, and expectations of the community.
The plan focuses on four key service initiatives:
- Popular Collections
- Lifelong Learning
- Facilities and Spaces
