Learning English or Looking for Materials in Other Languages?

Print

Are you an English Language Learner, or someone who likes to read books and view movies in languages other than English? Then take a look at two recent additions to the Languages and Literature section of our website.

worldlanguages
On the World Languages Communities page you will find quick links to translating our website into other languages, foreign films in our collection by language, and library materials in Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Korean. You will also see links to community organizations and resources of interest to those who speak those four languages.

On the English Language Learners page you will find information about classes, discussion groups, and databases that supplement the ELL materials collections at our Cook Park and Aspen Drive locations.

You may find of special interest the library's English Language Learners book discussion group called REMEFRITA. REMEFRITA stands for REading, MEeting, FRiends, and TAlking. The group meets on the following Monday mornings at 10:30 AM in the meeting room of Cook Park Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville:

November 19 & 26; December 10; January 14 & 28; February 11 & 25; March 11; April 1, 15 & 29; and May 13.

If you would like to know more about REMEFRITA, or other library services for English Language Learners, please contact Trish Compton, 847 362-2330 x1139 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
